What is a Page Access Counter?

You can place an odometer style counter on one or more of your web pages. Although many vital statistics can be reviewed via our stats program, sometimes you may want to advertise the number of "hits" to a specific web page.

If your site is business related, CyOp recommends that you do not use page counters for two reasons:

1. If you are trying to impress people, consider that no large companies use page counters anymore. You generally only see smaller sites using counters. Small sites usually mean small companies. Considering that the Internet allows you to create a "much larger than you really are" impression with your web presence, you could defeat the purpose by including a page counter.
2. Page counters will show the amount of visitors (or lack of) to your site. If your site is "low traffic", you are advertising this fact to new visitors on the opening page. That could give the wrong impression.

Better to keep them guessing!
