I can't get my Frontpage "mailto form results" function to work. What's the fix?

When using the "mailto form results" function that allows you to have form results emailed to you, you may get the following message when trying to configure this function:
"The FrontPage Server Extensions have not been configured to send e-mail. Please direct your system administrator or Internet Service Provider to follow the instructions at "Setting Up Your Email Transport" in the \SERK\enu\admin.htm file on the FrontPage CD-ROM.

Would you like to remove the mail recipient?"

Here's the fix......

You must first close the FrontPage Editor and Explorer

Then you must stop the Personal Webserver (it's in your Control Panel)

Now, click on the start button (lower left), click on "find", then click on "files or folders"

A window will appear. In the "Named" field type, "frontpg.ini" (without the " "). In the "Look in" field select (C:). Click the "Find Now" button. This will search your hard drive for the frontpg.ini file.

After the frontpg.ini file appears in the lower half of the window, double click the file and it should open in the notepad. As you look at the file you will notice the heading [FrontPage 3.0]. Within that section you need to create a new line and type in the following text

SMTPhost=mailhost.maindomain.com (without the " ")

Be careful not to put that text under another heading, make sure it is under the [FrontPage 3.0] heading. The Headings are enclosed in brackets [ ]

Save the file and close it.

Now restart the Personal Webserver (in the Control Panel), Restart FrontPage, configure your form and it will work!
