Why can’t I connect with my FTP program to my Web Site?

There could be several reasons for this. The most common mistake is wrong username or password. If you are unsure of your username and password, contact support@cyop.net to obtain the correct ones.

Also make sure that the startup directory in your FTP profile (on the "startup tab" in WS_FTP or Cute FTP) is left blank and the "Host name/Address" is your complete web address. I.E. www.your_domain_name.com

If your domain name is new or being transferred, it might still be propagating. This is the process needed for the change to your domain name to filter out to the rest of the world. It all starts with the InterNIC. A simple test is to try to connect to your site by using the IP address instead of the domain name. If you can connect. Your domain name has not propagated yet and you should continue to use the IP address for a couple of days. When you use the IP address in place of the domain name, please do so as follows:

Always use the IP address, without www. in front or .com at the end..
